Canterbury New Build House
Project
New build 3 bedroom 2 storey detached domestic dwelling.
Construction
This traditionally built brick and block house with trussed roof was built in the garden of an existing property.
This project also included:
- A single storey living area to the rear of the property with an undercroft leading to the rear parking area.
- Flat roof of the rear single storey and the front bay window has a beautifully detailed lead roof.
- Solar slates are fitted to the front elevation on the main roof.
- Both floors of the building have underfloor heating.
- All the windows and external doors are of timber construction.
As the property is built over an ancient Roman road, we liaised closely with the Canterbury Archaeological Trust whilst carrying out groundworks.
Careful planning was required with regard to programming of works to avoid unnecessary disruption to the neighbours as access was via a narrow city centre residential street. Parking was also very restricted.
